Meet Timothy J. Reeb

When you hire an RJSR attorney, you’re getting someone in your corner who is not just going to tell you what you want to hear, but who will provide you with real guidance as to what we actually believe is the best path for you.

As a partner at Reich, Jumbeck, Stole & Reeb, Tim Reeb concentrates in all areas of family law and divorce, including helping clients successfully resolve complex financial disputes, and helping resolve issues concerning child custody and parenting time. In addition to representing divorcing clients, Tim represents clients in post-divorce litigation, parentage cases, adoptions, and family law appeals. While Tim’s aim is to resolve his cases prior to proceeding to trial (whenever the same is in his client’s best interest), Tim has a proven track record in obtaining successful results for his clients in a wide array of complicated divorce trials.

Tim’s experience in family law litigation and settlement is extensive and includes successfully litigating divorce cases that involved the division of substantial business assets, as well as successfully resolving cases that involved the division of extremely sophisticated financial instruments. Tim has litigated many cases that involved nuanced issues relative to maintenance, child support, and division of assets. Tim has also successfully litigated extremely contentious custody battles, and is regularly appointed by judges as a Guardian Ad Litem (where he performs investigations as to the best interests of children on behalf of the judge). Tim is also regularly appointed by judges as a mediator in cases where parents are unable to reach agreement as to parenting time and decision-making relative to their children, and mediates cases where divorcing, or divorced, parties are unable to resolve complicated financial disputes.

A life-long Will County resident who grew up in Joliet, Tim attended grammar school at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet, and attended high school at Joliet Catholic. Tim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from DePaul University, and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago, where he graduated in the top 8% of his class.

Prior to law school, Tim gained a great deal of experience in the financial and business worlds. After focusing on Finance and Marketing at DePaul, Tim obtained his Series 7 license (as a General Securities Representative), as well as his Series 66 license (as an Investment Advisor Representative). Thereafter, Tim worked as a financial advisor with American Express and subsequently opened, owned, and operated, a small business in Darien, Illinois.

Tim excelled in law school, graduating in the top 8% of his  class at Loyola University Chicago’s School of Law. While in law school, Tim sold his small business and worked extensively in Loyola’s Tax Law Clinic where he negotiated with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on behalf of the Tax Clinic’s clients. Tim also spent multiple semesters with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where he worked in their Department of Enforcement. In advance of his final year of law school, Tim worked in Allstate Insurance Company’s headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois (specifically in Allstate’s Legal Department), where he performed work relative to Allstate’s acquisition of an online insurance provider.

After law school, Tim spent several years at a larger law firm in Chicago where his focus was on complex financial litigation. Tim then moved back to his roots in the southwest suburbs, and joined what is now Reich, Jumbeck, Stole & Reeb, LLP.

Outside of his work as a partner at Reich, Jumbeck, Stole & Reeb, Tim lives in Naperville, Illinois, and enjoys golfing, gardening, and playing the guitar. Tim can often be found at Mistwood Golf Course, in Romeoville, Illinois, where he and fellow Reich, Jumbeck, Stole & Reeb partner, Greg Jumbeck, are members.
